Andrew is a Senior Associate and member of GHT’s Technology studio. He offers strong experience working with AutoCAD and Revit© MEP, a Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. As an Autodesk Certified Professional for Revit©, Andrew’s expertise in the latest drafting technologies provides clients with high-quality models and drawings that foster a collaborative experience for project teams. With his primary focus on Revit© and BIM, Andrew has disseminated his knowledge and expertise to his peers through internal training sessions for GHT team members. He has also been instrumental in developing design standards for the firm.
How long have you been at GHT? 10 years
What inspired you to pursue a career in the AEC industry? My second-grade teacher told me I had an aptitude for math and science. She asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said an inventor. She said you should be an engineer, and I responded with “I don’t want to drive trains.” She told me what engineers actually did, and ever since then, that’s what I wanted to be. I was inspired by Matt Fitzgerald, my college roommate, to check out GHT, and the rest is history.
What’s your favorite part of your role at GHT? My coworkers.
What do you recommend for individuals looking to pursue a career in the AEC industry? When I was first starting out, I received a piece of advice from someone who had already started a couple AEC businesses. He said to me, “it’s going to be tempting to take the biggest salary you can find, but you should really look for a place where you can learn, and they are willing to teach you. The money will come.”
