Firm Earns 18 Awards in Various Project Categories
Arlington, VA (April 17, 2024) – GHT Limited (GHT), a leading DC metro area mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering consulting firm, received 18 awards across numerous categories at the 2024 Washington Business Congress (WBC) Craftsmanship Awards.
As the most-awarded project in DMV commercial real estate history, Amazon HQ2 Metropolitan Park, was recognized with 16 awards. Metropolitan Park received awards in Finishes – Painting & Wallcovering, Concrete – Precast Concrete, and Doors & Windows – Exterior Glass. In addition, the project received two awards in the Sitework – Landscaping category and was nominated for a special star award for Mechanical – HVAC-Sheet Metal.

Metropolitan Park’s Tenant Improvements received awards in Electrical – Lighting Systems, Electrical – Power Generation, Distribution and Switchgear, Electrical – Telecommunications Systems and Facilities, and Electrical – Special Systems.

Metropolitan Park’s Project Coco also received an award in the Electrical – Lighting Systems category. Metropolitan Park’s Center of Energy also received awards in Electrical – Lighting Systems, Finishes – Drywall, Finishes – Painting & Wallcovering, Metals – Miscellaneous Metal Fabrication, and Woods & Plastics – Architectural Millwork.

“As the world’s largest LEED v4 BD+C building, our implementation of innovative MEP systems and sustainability strategies contributed to the project’s success”, says Principal and Lead Mechanical Engineer for the project, Brad McNiff. “I’m excited to see how Amazon HQ2 Metropolitan Park continues to shape sustainable design in the DMV.”
In addition to Metropolitan Park’s awards, two additional GHT projects received awards. In-Q-Tel’s space in McLean, VA, was recognized with an award in Electrical – Lighting Systems and our Confidential Client’s Washington, DC office was recognized with an award in Finishes – Drywall.
