Dedicated to providing the most innovative and effective ophthalmology treatments, Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons needed a comfortable environment for patient care.
GHT provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering design services for the practice’s 8,500 SF facility in Bowie, MD, which features consultation offices, 10 exam spaces, a full optometry diagnostics center, and a surgical procedure room for laser eye and cataract procedures.
The surgical procedure room utilizes a humidity-controlled A/C system with supplemental HVAC and battery backup power to support the surgical laser and other medical equipment. In addition to the medical spaces, the reception area also required enhanced coordination. With the reception area adjacent to the building’s major mechanical equipment, GHT worked with Interplan to coordinate the MEP systems with the reception area light fixtures and specialty architectural ceilings.
