In 2022, global advisory and technical services provider ICF relocated its corporate headquarters to Reston Metro Plaza.
Situated in the “East Coast tech corridor” and adjacent to the Wiehle Avenue-Reston East Metro station, the new headquarters meets the needs of the rapidly growing firm. GHT provided the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) engineering design, fundamental commissioning, and LEED administration services for the 208,000 SF office space.
The amenity-rich environment incorporates a terrace, café, conference center, and auditorium throughout the office space to welcome the firm’s 1,000 local employees. To support the building amenities, the project’s MEP infrastructure utilizes 24/7 supplemental HVAC and server/LAN closets on each floor.
To complement the building’s selection of a sustainable site with access to quality transit, ICF prioritized sustainability throughout the interior spaces with strategies such as advanced energy metering and enhanced refrigerant management, which resulted in LEED Gold certification.
