Aspire! Afterschool Learning Center

As the result of a public-private partnership between Aspire! Afterschool Learning and Arlington County, Aspire! built out a new learning facility on the unfinished third floor of the Arlington Mill Community Center.

GHT provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering design services for the space, which now serves as Aspire!’s headquarters and primary program site. With deep roots in the Arlington community, GHT completed the work pro bono to help Aspire! meet the increasing demand to serve local at-risk students.

Utilizing the existing base building MEP systems to support the fit-out, the finished space includes classrooms, administrative support spaces, and a library. The facility also features interactive spaces for the students, including a dance studio and snack area, to empower students through Aspire!’s after-school and summer programs.
