As the Plumbing Section Head in GHT’s Interiors Studio, Ken Sims has 30 years of experience designing plumbing systems for interior spaces in the Washington, DC metro area. His expertise in plumbing design coupled with his field experience, has culminated in an outstanding project portfolio of healthcare facilities, restaurants, corporate headquarters, residential buildings, and mission critical facilities.
In addition to his plumbing design expertise, Ken is passionate about sustainability, and has provided sustainable design and calculations for more than 50 LEED certified projects. His design portfolio includes medical systems, fire protection systems, domestic water, natural gas, sanitary waste, and storm management systems. In his role as Plumbing Section Head, Ken provides design guidance to project engineers, conducts quality control reviews on projects, and mentors emerging plumbing designers. When Ken is not in the field surveying a plumbing system for a large commercial fit-out or developing customized solutions to meet his clients’ needs, you can find him on the golf course or spending time with his two daughters.
