U.S. Marshals Service

Representative Image

GHT provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services for the U.S. Marshals Service, 355,500 SF, Class A, tenant space and base building modifications. The government tenant occupies 1215 S Clark Street in its entirety and floors two through six at 201 12th Street South in Arlington, VA.

The project included a mix of open plan workstations and private offices. The space also consisted of SCIF spaces, conference rooms, print and file rooms, a main server room with supplemental 24/7 HVAC, and floor-by-floor IDF closets with exhaust fans. All spaces were designed to Level IV Security Standards.

The non critical spaces were supported mechanically from the existing MEP base building systems. Any 24/7 critical spaces had supplemental cooling. This included operation centers, SCIF spaces, and multi-purpose rooms.

The U.S. Marshals Service space was permitted in phases, frequently by floor, to ensure that scheduling milestones were achieved while allowing the appropriate amount of time for design review, end user feedback, and quality assurance/quality control.
