GHT provided an energy analysis of a mid-rise, Class A office building near Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The goal was to identify an effective approach to reducing overall energy consumption and operating costs.
To assist the owner in determining the best value response, GHT modeled four system improvement options. Our report compared the investment costs, estimated utility bills, and anticipated payback of:
- Replacing district chilled water with separate air cooled chillers
- Implementing demand control ventilation strategies for the outside air system
- Supplementing the chiller plant with a 100-ton air cooled chiller
- Supplementing the chiller plant with a 250-ton air cooled chiller
