Australian Embassy Commissioning

GHT Limited served as the Commissioning Authority (CxA) for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing support systems for the Australian Embassy – Temporary Chancery in Washington, DC.
This 101,000 SF project was a tenant improvement renovation on the fifth through ninth floors of the building. Improvements included extension of existing base building HVAC systems, lighting controls, domestic hot water heating, and installation of supplemental AC and UPS equipment.

GHT’s Commissioning Team reviewed the MEP contract documents for clarity and completeness, developed and incorporated commissioning specifications for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines into the documents, and established a three-part commissioning plan. The commissioning plan involved a pre-functional review (PFR), systems commissioning inspection review (SCI), and functional performance tests (FPTs).
