Donohoe Real Estate Services sought an ASHRAE Level II energy audit to identify Energy Efficiency Improvement Opportunities (EEIOs) at this commercial office property. The audit addressed a review of the mechanical and electrical systems design, a review of operating/maintenance practices, a breakdown of the actual building energy consumption per end-use components, and an outline of recommended EEIOs. The building’s overall energy consumption was compared to facilities across the nation of similar size and usage type. A cost-means analysis was used to determine an order-of-magnitude (OOM) budget cost to implement each EEIO.
GHT developed 10 low-cost to capital cost EEIOs designed to decrease the building’s energy usage index (EUI). Four of the 10 EEIOs were selected for detailed analysis, which could result in possible annual savings of more than $100,000 with payback in less than two years.
