Three GHT Employees Earn Accredited Professional™ (WELL AP™)

GHT Celebrates Multiple Staff Members to Earning the WELL AP Credential

Arlington, VA (September 10, 2019) – GHT Limited (GHT), a leading DC metro area mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering consulting firm announces that Principal, Jim White, PE, LEED AP, WELL AP , Sustainable Programs Manager, Meghan McAvoy, LEED AP, WELL AP, and OES Representative, Catherine Jones, EIT, LEED AP, WELL AP recently earned the WELL AP credential through the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™).

The WELL AP credential is a leading credential signifying advanced knowledge of health and well-being in the built environment and specialization in the WELL Building Standard™ (WELL).

“Encouraging our employees to pursue the WELL AP credential is a reflection of our mission to transform the client experience through innovation,” says GHT President Paul O’Brien, PE, LEED AP ID+C. “When our clients are tracking a sustainable program for their projects, they can count on GHT as a partner in achieving design, certification, and performance targets.”

White says, “The WELL AP certification will allow me to serve our clients as we work together to create the best strategies for a healthier and more sustainable built environment focused on occupant wellness. GHT believes that in addition to LEED and other established design rating systems, WELL plays an integral role in creating a better tomorrow for the architectural, engineering, and construction industry.”

McAvoy adds, “The WELL building standard exemplifies best practices across a range of human health indicators and offers a way for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to employees and tenants. GHT recognizes the value of human well-being within the built environment and implements strategies that encourage healthy buildings for our clients.”

“As the average American currently spends 90% of their time indoors, human well-being and energy use reduction are becoming increasingly more centric to design practices in the built environment. WELL allows designers to create an environment that promotes occupant health, and when paired with LEED practices, helps achieve both goals,” Jones says.

About the WELL Building Standard
