HKS Architects Earns Pinnacle Award for Bell Helicopter Project
Arlington, VA (May 14, 2019) – GHT Limited (GHT), a leading DC metro area mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering consulting firm, had projects receive multiple awards in various categories, including the Pinnacle Award, honoring the best overall design at the 2019 International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Premiere Design Awards.
The twenty-fourth annual IIDA Mid Atlantic Chapter Premiere awards were presented on the evening of May 7, 2019 at The Harman Center for the Arts. These awards bring public recognition to exceptional design work in the Mid-Atlantic region and are judged by a team of professional IIDA members from outside the region.
This year, GHT Limited was a member of the design team for three recognized projects in four categories, including the highest honor of the night, the Pinnacle Award. The following GHT projects were selected as winners:
- The Pinnacle Award: Bell Helicopter Advanced Vertical Lift Center
- Honor Award 20k – 30k SF: Bell Helicopter Advanced Vertical Lift Center
- Honor Award 60k – 100k SF: JLL DC Headquarters
- Honor Award >100k SF: Nestle USA Headquarters
GHT served as the MEP Engineer of Record for each project. The Bell Helicopter Advanced Vertical Lift Center project included the installation of 24/7 supplemental HVAC systems in various spaces, a 25’ video wall, and an immersive demonstration area with a 16 SF interactive touch screen table and projection screens. The design team worked together to meet an aggressive timeline, completing the project from initial survey of the shell spaces through design, permit, construction and occupancy in less than six months.
