Firm Earns Recognition for Multiple Projects
Arlington, VA (November 17, 2017) – GHT Limited (GHT), a leading DC metro area mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering consulting firm, received recognition on multiple awards in various categories at the 2017 Best of NAIOP Northern Virginia Awards ceremony last night.
This awards event recognizes and celebrates significant new contributions to Northern Virginia by the commercial, industrial and mixed-use real estate community. The program demonstrates the dedication of outstanding individuals who provide contributions to the built environment.
This year, GHT Limited received recognition on two projects which received three awards. The Boro, submitted by The Meridian Group, received two awards: Real Estate Transaction Lease under 175,000 SF, Award of Merit and Buildings Master Plan, Award of Excellence. GHT’s project, George Mason University Potomac Science Center, submitted by E.E. Read Construction, L.P. received the Build-to-Suit Institutional Facility Under $30 Million, Award of Merit.
GHT completed the MEP Design work on both projects. They helped GMU make a strong commitment to sustainable design as a beta test project for LEED v4, the newest version of the LEED green building program. The 50,000 SF waterfront building includes wet labs for teaching and research; lecture rooms; offices for faculty, graduate students, and other researchers; a spatial analysis laboratory; and a library/resource center.
On The Boro project located in Tysons, VA, GHT worked on sustainable design features which focus on enhancing occupant comfort and well-being while optimizing energy and water savings. This transforms the former SAIC campus in Tysons Corner into a dynamic 4,000,000 SF mixed-use development.
