Marc Soulier

As a Principal and the Mechanical Section Head for the Building Systems studio, Marc is instrumental in mechanical design development, project management practices, and the mentorship of emerging professionals at GHT. For the past 35 years, Marc has spent his career providing mechanical systems design leadership for commercial office buildings, mission-critical and raised-floor computer spaces, mixed-use developments, and historic renovations.

How long have you been at GHT?  35 years (a career).

What inspired you to pursue a career in the AEC industry? Technology constantly changing in the field and the ability to take part in developing that Technology.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced? Working with the owner/architect team to find the best system to use in their building and thinking outside of the box.

What’s the future look like for an MEP engineer? The sky is the limit.

What are some characteristics of leadership at an MEP firm?  Be self-aware, prioritize personal development, and focus on personnel development. Vision, strategic and critical thinking, and flexibility.

What skills have helped you as an engineer? Thinking outside of the box, creative design, critical thinking, and listening to other engineers and their approach to engineering.
