If you didn’t, you may face a fine of up to $100 per day. Need help? Contact us for more information or to request a benchmarking proposal.
Program Overview
The District of Columbia requires private commercial and multifamily buildings of 50,000 SF and greater to benchmark energy and water use data on an annual basis, typically by April 1st of each year. The cost of non-compliance is $100 per day.
Start the process early to ensure you’ll meet the deadline – particularly if you own a multi-tenant building and need to request aggregate utility data. As the deadline approaches, utility provider turnaround times will increase.
GHT can help you navigate the benchmarking process, collect and enter your data in Portfolio Manager for submission to DC, and verify your data to qualify for the ENERGY STAR. Contact us for more information or to request a proposal.
What Actions are Required?
The District Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) and the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) created a checklist that details the actions required to comply.
